A Train the Trainer course vis our Affiliate Trainer Programme, focuses on tutoring potential or existing instructors so they can deliver training in their area of expertise in the most comprehensive, concise and cohesive way.
With our guidance, you will be able to identify the IKON Training course that suits your organisational requirements.
By attending a Train the Trainer course, a learner will develop an understanding of the skills and training management requirements to deliver a fully inclusive IKON Training professional training session.
An in-house training team has many benefits and can be a cost-effective solution for many organisations:
The minimum requirement to become a trainer and attend the IKON Train the Trainer is a Level 3 Award in Education and Training.
The Level 3 Teaching Qualification is the ideal foundation course designed for learners with no previous experience in training or teaching. It is intended to be an introductory qualification to the adult education sector, giving learners a beginner’s look into teaching and what it involves.
All candidates must have had a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. No person is eligible to deliver IKON training who is prevented from working with vulnerable persons under a statutory provision.
When selecting individuals to send on the Train the Trainer course, consider if they have relevant work-based experience and an excellent attitude to the principles of promoting good practice in the interests of the individuals they support. It is an advantage, not a requirement, to have previous presentation skills.
The course teaches delivery and presentation skills so the primary consideration should be whether the individual has a positive attitude and credibility within the staff team.
Our training is certified by Bild ACT under The Restraint Reduction Network Training Standards. We also hold the Quality Award Centre status through the Institute of Conflict Management.
Up to a ratio of four appropriately identified staff members to attend per one IKON Training instructor.
Our Train the Trainer program duration depends on the number of trainers that attend and which course we teach.
New trainers will undergo an intensive minimum five-day programme by our experienced senior training instructors.
All trainers must complete an annual reaccreditation course to continue using IKON branded materials and the delivery of IKON training courses.
Our training manager will conduct a training needs analysis, enabling the customisation of a bespoke program.
The program is designed to achieve your training and organisation’s aims and objectives and will reinforce your policies and procedures.
By attending our NHS Train the Trainer courses, the learners will be taught by IKON subject matter experts, who are qualified, skilled instructors and experts at passing skills and enthusiasm to others.
We recommend that your trainers view an IKON instructor delivering your selected course. Watching the course as a delegate offers valuable context and an opportunity to visualise the delivery style and methodology we will share.
The Train the Trainer model is a framework that teaches your employees how to become skilled instructors who can deliver a training program across your organisation to identified teams and departments.
An organisation-level trainer agreement and the quality assurance policy document must all be approved by BILD Act before IKON can schedule training delivery to commence.
We will complete an assessment and competency check on all skills and techniques learnt, documenting our professional feedback and making recommendations relating to the capability of your training team to deliver the IKON programme.
Pre-course study material will be provided before starting the course. IKON Live, online live learning may also be recommended before face-to-face training begins.
We supply all your branded training materials electronically, including a detailed lesson plan and a physical skills manual, providing trainers with an additional reference point and ongoing support.
On successful completion of the trainer program and agreement to adhere to the service level and trainer agreements, your staff will be licensed to deliver the IKON Training course for one year to those employed in the organisation where you work.
Attending trainers should demonstrate an excellent attitude to promoting good practice in the interests of the individuals they support.
Pre-course materials or prior learning will be viewed, attended and completed.
By the end of the learning phase, the learners will have viewed the content and confidently presented the course to us. A theory-based knowledge check will be completed to establish understanding and confirms learning.
Trainers must sign a code of conduct, committing to IKON values and the ethos of course delivery.
An IKON Training instructor and BILD Act assessor will be required to complete a peer review on the licensed trainers.
The trainer will be licensed to deliver the IKON Training course to the staff employed in the organisation they work.
Training cannot be ‘sold on’ for income generation or commercial gain.
Upon completing the trainer programme, the learner receives an IKON Train the Trainer qualification certificate.
We are experts in creating engaging training materials. Our in-house learning designer will supply all required training materials in a branded digital format to be used exclusively to support the training delivery.
The materials will provide scaffolding to help the trainers with reference points, offering ongoing support during and post-training.
You will need to produce registers and evaluations from delegates attending courses and maintain accurate records.
Under the trainer code of conduct, you must complete training delivery as demonstrated in your approved lesson plan. As part of our trainer agreement, materials are to be used as received, with no amendments to be made by the Trust. Materials will undergo an annual review, and IKON will share updates at the annual renewal stage.
Quality assurance, support and ongoing development are essential to the success of your in-house team.
Within six months, we will attend a course delivered by your newly licensed trainers, and your training team will attend a peer review.
We will complete a quality check, explore any concerns and provide direct documented feedback to maintain high standards.
We aim to be an extension of your in-house team and are here to develop, support and offer training resilience in your in-house team, ensuring consistency and a return on investment.
