Why do you limit course sizes?
We keep group sizes small to ensure learners receive individual support and to maintain a safe and effective learning environment.
Are there any breaks during courses?
Our half-day courses include a 10–15-minute break. Full-day courses have morning and afternoon comfort breaks, plus a 30-minute lunch break to recharge.
What certification do learners receive?
Learners will receive a digital IKON Certificate of Attendance. For our BILD Act certified RRN Training Standards course, learners receive an approved BILD Act and RRN certificate.
Do you offer open courses?
Not at the moment. Our training is designed for organisations and delivered in group sessions up to 16 learners for communication courses and two to 12 for physical skills courses.
What can you be trained in on the Affiliate Trainer Programme?
Most of our courses can be delivered through the Affiliate Trainer Programme, contact us for more details.
What pre-requisites do you need to go on an Affiliate Trainer course?
Learners must have or be working towards a Level 3 Award in Education and Training.
Do you recommend refreshers session? Do the courses expire?
We recommend re-accreditation every three years for communication conflict resolution and breakaway disengagement courses. For physical skills courses, an annual refresher helps maintain quality and competency.
What is Breakaway Disengagement Training?
Breakaway Disengagement Training equips you with the skills and confidence to safely manage aggression, covering de-escalation, and early warning signs of escalating behaviour.

Can training be tailored to our organisation’s needs?
Yes! We customise training to align with your organisation’s policies, challenges and industry–specific requirements.
Who delivers the training?
Our courses are led by experienced IKON Trainers with real-world expertise in conflict resolution, de-escalation and physical intervention.
Where does the training take place?
We deliver training at your workplace, a venue of your choice, online or at IKON’s training venue in Suffolk. Whatever works best for you.
Venue requirements:
- Communication skills courses: A screen or projector is needed.
- Physical skills courses: A screen or projector is required, plus a spacious room for up to 12 learners and the trainer to move freely. Please remove excess furniture where possible.
- NHS/Healthcare Managing Challenging Behaviour & PMVA courses: A hospital bed, trolley, or massage bed is needed for practice.
- Online courses: Delivered via IKON Live online training (MS Teams). Each learner needs a desktop, laptop, or tablet with a camera and microphone for full participation.
