This course is designed for education professionals who regularly support learners, parents and carers in dynamic and sometimes high-pressure environments.
Whether managing classroom behaviour, supporting students in distress, or managing challenging conversations with parents, this training provides essential skills to de-escalate situations effectively and maintain a safe learning environment.
Our BILD ACT certified training aligns with the Restraint Reduction Network (RRN) Training Standards.
Supporting safe responses to behaviour that challenges in education:
- Teachers & Lecturers – Confidently manage behaviour in learning environments and respond safely when situations escalate in classrooms, corridors and communal areas.
- Teaching Assistants / LSAs / SEND Support Staff – Strengthen practical skills for managing dysregulation and behaviours of concern while maintaining safety, consistency and duty of care.
- Pastoral Teams & Heads of Year – Support learners in crisis, reduce escalation early, and handle emotionally heightened situations with calm structure and clear boundaries.
- Safeguarding Leads & DSL Teams – Develop practical strategies for supporting learners who may experience distress or dysregulation while maintaining safety, consistency and duty of care.
- Behaviour & Inclusion Teams – Apply structured de-escalation and risk assessment strategies in higher-risk situations, supporting safer outcomes for learners and staff.
- PRU / Alternative Provision Staff – Build consistent team responses in environments where challenging behaviour is more frequent, supporting safer, more stable learning spaces.
- College Student Services & Support Teams – Manage conflict and challenging interactions with students and visitors in open, public-facing settings, including reception, welfare and support services.
- Senior Leaders (SLT) & Managers – Improve consistency across teams, reinforce policy and good practice, and support staff effectively before and after incidents.
