Just wanted to ping over some validation following the recent de-escalation training held in London, we had a couple of unpleasant incidents take place in Oxford Street over the weekend and the way the team dealt with it at the moment was honestly faultless!
There was no confusion or lack of confidence, a Supervisor approached the challenging individuals and calmly asked them to leave the store, afterwards the whole team checked in with each other and it didn’t impact the day whatsoever.

One of the most important prerequisites for carrying out first aid training is a facility that offers comfortable, air conditioned, spacious and modern surroundings. It is important that our clients feel relaxed in as this aids the learning process. The location is perfect with free parking for clients, and easy access from Ipswich town centre and the A12/A14.

We decided on a Train the Trainer approach and had the pleasure of working with James as our trainer. His approach, knowledge (and patience!) was really appreciated and helped the team immensely in learning new skills and techniques. Support following the programme is excellent. The impact the change has made to our training is pretty impressive. Moving from a chalk and talk one size fits all approach to CRT, we now have two levels of practical training based on levels of risk. Feedback on the programmes is always positive, attendance has increased significantly and our trainers are delivering training that they enjoy as they receive great feedback from the staff attending our courses.
Working with IKON has been an excellent experience from our first scoping meeting looking at what we needed as an organisation, with advice and guidance and expertise on how this could be tailored just for us through to the delivery of our courses. IKON embraced our Trust policies and procedures and used our own stories and challenges to design a programme that is real and alive for our staff. My staff have unanimously enjoyed every course the team have delivered and have gone away feeling safer and more confident and competent to carry out appropriate and proportionate clinical holding and restrictive interventions. The IKON trainers are engaging and clearly very skilled and our staff have all commented on how much fun the days have been as well as informative. And I mustn’t forget the ‘behind the scenes’ support from the office; the logistics have been so slick with bookings and scheduling (and painless rescheduling when we have had to cancel due to clinical pressures), documentation and reports have always been provided as and when needed. I couldn’t recommend IKON highly enough; and I have in fact done so already to colleagues and peers.
