As the Training Director of IKON Training, I’m delighted to present a blog shedding light on “Empowering Excellence” through IKON’s Train the Trainer course. A Train the Trainer course focuses on tutoring potential or existing instructors to deliver comprehensive, concise, and cohesive training in their area of expertise.

Under our guidance, individuals can identify the IKON Training course that best suits their organisational requirements.

By attending a Train the Trainer course, an affiliate trainer will develop an understanding of the skills and training management requirements to deliver a fully inclusive IKON Training professional training session.

Here are some frequently asked questions addressed:

What are the benefits of qualifying through IKON?

An in-house training team offers numerous benefits, including:

  • Tailored Training: Affiliate trainers receive customised instruction from subject matter experts to deliver conflict resolution effectively to their teams.
  • Cost-Effective Upskilling: In-house training represents value by reducing the need for external trainers and enhancing financial efficiency.
  • Cultural Alignment: Training ensures consistency with organisational culture and values, promoting unity in conflict resolution approaches.
  • Continuous Development: Ongoing support ensures trainers stay updated and adept at resolving conflicts, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Risk Mitigation: Proactive conflict resolution minimises organisational risks associated with unresolved conflicts, safeguarding reputation and stability.

What qualifications are needed for participation in the  Train the Trainer course?

The prerequisites for attending the IKON Train the Trainer course include holding a Level 3 Award in Education and Training, the foundational qualification. This course is tailored for individuals new to training or teaching, offering an introductory insight into adult education practices.

All leaners must have undergone a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, ensuring eligibility to work with vulnerable individuals in compliance with statutory provisions.

When selecting candidates for the Train the Trainer course, emphasis is placed on their relevant work-based experience and commitment to upholding the principles of promoting best practices in the support of others. While previous presentation skills are advantageous, they are not obligatory.

The course primarily focuses on imparting delivery and presentation skills, making it crucial for candidates to exhibit a positive attitude and credibility.

When staff complete the course, who can they train?

The affiliate trainer will be licensed to deliver the IKON Training course to the staff employed in the organisation they work.

It’s imperative to note that IKON Training courses cannot be resold for income generation or commercial purposes.

Provided Qualifications and Materials:

Affiliate trainers are awarded an IKON Train the Trainer qualification certificate upon completion of the trainer programme. As specialists in crafting training resources, our in-house learning designer meticulously creates all necessary materials in a branded digital format tailored to support training delivery.

These materials serve as invaluable scaffolding, offering trainers reference points and ongoing assistance during and after training sessions. Additionally, trainers are responsible for maintaining accurate records, including registers and evaluations from course attendees.

Adherence to the trainer’s code of conduct is paramount, necessitating faithful training delivery as outlined in the approved lesson plan.

It’s important to note that the materials provided are to be used as received. Regular annual reviews ensure that the materials remain up-to-date, and IKON shares any necessary updates during the annual renewal stage.

Provided Materials:

  • Trainer Guidance
  • Training PowerPoint presentation
  • Lesson plans with teaching notes and timings
  • Technique descriptions and videos
  • Post-course delegate resources
  • Delegate evaluation survey template
  • Certificate of attendance template

These comprehensive materials equip affiliate trainers with everything needed to deliver practical and engaging IKON Training sessions, ensuring a seamless learning experience for all participants.

Ongoing Support and Quality Assurance:

Quality assurance, support, and continuous development are vital for the ongoing success of your in-house training team.

Within six months of completing the course, we will attend a session delivered by your newly licensed trainers, followed by a peer review involving your entire training team.

During these sessions, we conduct thorough quality checks, address concerns, and provide direct documented feedback to uphold high standards.

Our goal is to serve as an extension of your in-house team, fostering development, providing support, and enhancing training resilience. We are committed to ensuring consistency and delivering a significant return on investment for your organisation.

If we are qualifying your staff, who is qualifying us?

Our training is certified by Bild ACT under The Restraint Reduction Network Training Standards. We also hold the Quality Award Centre status through the Institute of Conflict Management.

Feedback from the West Suffolk Hospital Train the Trainer:

‘A lot of information and learning material to digest, however the way it was structured by James Crown was outstanding, his teaching style made it a very comfortable environment, Thank you.’

‘I was very nervous in the beginning, but clear explanation and demonstration in small doses built confidence. Subject knowledge improved tremendously. I’m still not fully confident, but practice, practice, practice and I’m sure I can make you proud of my achievements. Thank you to all at IKON.’

‘Lovely trainer, very calm allowed us to ask questions. It was very enjoyable. I learnt loads.’

Recent Feedback from New Client Avanti West Coast

‘Wow! Tim is a very knowledgeable and inspiring trainer! I had a great week on train the trainer and I am looking forward to working in collaboration with Tim/IKON for the future training sessions for business. I learnt a lot over the course of the week and acknowledge I still have more to learn and develop as a trainer myself, but I feel very privileged to have Tim as my trainer and mentor during this process.’

IKON’s Train the Trainer service will enable your team to deliver motivational and insightful training that builds confidence and trust.
