How video conferencing technology is improving access to training

Posted: April 20, 2022,

One of the biggest challenges for training providers over the last two to three years has been the transition to online remote training.

At IKON, we wanted to offer a seamless online experience for our delegates, matching the high-quality standards that we have set for the last 17 years.

Following our digitalisation of operations last year, IKON has continued to invest in the latest technology to give our in-house team of trainers the ability to deliver live, interactive, remote training courses via IKON Live. The investment is part of our plans to improve our two training rooms, made possible by the Plan For the Future Grant by New Anglia Local Enterprise for Norfolk.

Following a conversation with D&A Media, we learnt investing in the right technology would significantly improve the delivery quality of our remote training courses, improve our team’s operational flexibility and reduce our carbon footprint.

How video conferencing technology is improving access to training.

Hosting remote training sessions over video has been pivotal in enabling many training providers to continue to deliver their services to a broader client base despite them not being able to participate in person. In instances where it’s difficult or impossible for clients to travel, hosting training sessions over video has enabled training providers to continue to deliver their courses and seminars.

Working closely and collaboratively with a technology partner will enable you to:

  • Deliver more training sessions with lower overheads
  • Increase the number of attendees you can reach
  • Participate in live training sessions on any platform, in any location
  • Feel as though you’re in the room whilst working remotely
  • Reduce your travel time, travel costs and expenses

Video conferencing technology has become extremely useful for companies who want to train their employees on specific new systems or practices but are restricted by time or maybe do not have the budget for everyone to travel to a central training centre.

An experienced technology partner will enable your teams to join training sessions with a single click. They will not be required to download any additional applications to access your remote training sessions.

Sustainability

Training your employees over video is a much more sustainable option, as it prevents the need for multiple employees to travel to one location separately.
It also has environmental benefits when used by companies to train their staff remotely. It reduces the number of employees who need to travel to the training facilities; fewer cars are used in commuting to the facility—benefiting the environment and lowering your company’s carbon footprint, enabling you to reduce your impact on the planet.
Remote training sessions have become an attractive option for companies committed to making their operations more sustainable and future-proof.

Efficiency

Video conferencing technology has increased the efficiency of business operations, as it enables employees to access training sessions in-between doing their daily tasks. This allows employees to be more productive and develop new skills more time-efficient to adopt a more positive connected culture.

Why D&A Media?
